Baby overload

At what age is a child no longer considered a baby?  Who knows and frankly I do not care, these precious little princesses will brighten your day.  Yes, that's right, I got to spend time with little baby girls for a change!

My dear friend, Allison was in town about a week and a half ago and I got to go over and spend time with her and her little one and her family.  I always love being around her family cause everyone just makes you feel so welcome.  Allison also has three nephews (two of which are twins), so we always share stories. Allison is my oldest friend (we have known each other since we were 9 and still keep in touch), though with her in South Carolina and me here, we do not see each other as often as I would like.

But it was great to catch up and get to spend a little bit of time with this cutie...

Then one Monday for lunch, Kristi, Bethany, CJ and I got to meet up for lunch.  I got pink overload this week and loved it!

Ms. Bethany will be two in just over a month, and she is so vocal and happy, it is a joy to have been able to watch her grow up so closely!

All in all, it was a fantastic week :)

Food, Festivals and Farm Animals

CJ and I exclaimed 2015 the year of the festivals and thus far we have been hitting a few up and July has been no exception.  Despite the rainy day, we managed to hit up the tail end of the Hanover Tomato Festival.  And came home with about 10 pounds of tomatoes--I have thoroughly been enjoying those!

Super Big Tomato!

Of course, with rain comes rainbows and I thought this one was exceptionally pretty...

Brutus being ever so cute as always...

Then July 18th was the Pork, Peanut and Pine Festival in Surry, VA.  Of course I was drawn to the farm animals (like a moth to a flame, people, I tell ya)...

This particular pig ate peanuts, shell and all!

There was a cute little parade, with the King and Queen of the festival (how cute are these kids?)

Peanut Pie....

Then on the way home, we decided to stop off near Williamsburg for a wine tasting, so we got to take the Surry ferry over to Jamestown.

And ended the weekend with a wine tasting at Saude Creek, where I obviously spent more time petting the cute doggie than actually tasting wine :)

Do you have any festivals that you would recommend for the "year of the festivals?"

Let Freedom Ring...

Even though July 4th was a long weekend, I still found myself in town for a change of pace (which was super nice!)  So I put on my blue shorts, white shirt, and red shoes and did what any other American would....

Posed for a picture with Abraham Lincoln!

The neighborhood next to ours does a small family style Fourth of July parade and live music, so Bons, CJ (who was in route to the beach) and myself went to watch it and of course when presented with Abraham Lincoln--who would say no to a picture with him?  (Well actually Bons said no, but that is what it is!)

After getting home, I quickly got my car and headed off to meet up with Anna.  She had invited me to come with her to hear Patrick Henry's reenactment of the Give me Liberty or Give me Death speech at the Historic St. John's Church!  It was toasty as we were waiting in line, but it was definitely worth checking out.

Beautiful Stain Glass inside
Afterward,we could not resist getting a picture with more presidents and historic figures:

Me, "George Washington," "Patrick Henry," and Anna

Me, "Thomas Jefferson," and Anna

The chance of storms was high so I did not venture out for fireworks, but instead enjoyed a low key night in.  Then on Sunday, Bons and I traveled up to Fredericksburg to see the Whitman's and enjoy a pool day and cook out!
Me and Meagan trying to be twins!
I even made some Patriotic cookies for the occasion:

Hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Fourth of July!

Friday Favorites #20

1. World Map Pillow ($38):  I love this cute pillow to recount travels or just to pinpoint places you love.

2. Lolli Living Owl Lamp ($48):  Such a cute addition to a baby's nursery!  The white color of the lamp would really make it fit in anywhere!

3. Ferris Wheel Print (FREE): What an adorable printable and it is FREE!!  When I move this will be the first piece in my new place, love the colors and on the site, there are two complimentary pictures there that are also FREE!

4. Textured Woven Ryker Sofa ($880):  Love this couch from world market and the color would really pop!  Not sure the price is right, but its worth looking into if you are in the market for a new comfy couch!

Norfolk Weekend in June

I totally gave yall a teaser in my last post about my trip to Norfolk, so in an attempt not to keep you waiting too long, here is the follow-up, picture-full post about my latest trip to Norfolk!

I took Friday off work so I could get a long weekend with the kiddos, so I left work on Thursday to head down there and was able to share the new felt art with Corbin before bedtime on Thursday night...

Then we were up and at 'em early on Friday morning (of course), so we were playing and we had a big trip to Wal-Mart on tap!

There Holden found a Frozen music player and proceeded to put everyone's dance moves to shame!  (I tell you, all these boys have some moves--I need to take note)

Corbin and I got to go to the playground for a little one on one time, before naptime!

Then I got back just in time to rock Garrett back to sleep....

Post nap time snuggles with this cutie....

Saturday morning, Josh was back from some work travel, so him and I took the kiddos to the Virginia Living Museum, so Tiffie could presumably have some downtime (but instead she worked on cleaning out the attic--SUPER MOM!).  While there, Corbin turned into a Vet:
Garrett turned into a frog:

And Holden, a squirrel (or some other tree-dwelling animal):

Told him to make a "silly face"....

One quick Auntie Lala photo op:

After all the kids were down for their naps, Tiffie and Josh got a lunch date while I stayed home waiting to see who would wake up first, well it was this cutie, who loves a post nap snuggle (and of course I was all to happy to oblige)...

These guys certainly keep you on your toes...

On Sunday, we decided a family trip to Mount Trashmore was in order, so we all loaded up in the mini-van and made our way out there, we were had a picnic snack time, did some rock climbing, rolled down the hill (or maybe that was just me) and attempted a family photo op....

At least Tiffany and Josh are smiling!

This was the best one from all those pictures :)
Selfies with some of my buddies...

Josh and Josh Jr. right there...

On the way home, CJ and I meet up at Busch Gardens to attempt to ride rides, however, the park was crazy busy that day so we settled on train and the boat, until next time....

And of course a London Rocks photo op was in order....

Finally got a post up before a whole month went by!  Here is hoping I pick up the speed of these things, thanks for hanging in there!
